Hello! Readers, I would like to take this opportunity to share with all of you about my own experiences with the topic of “self-motivation”. What does it mean to you at first sight? How do we do self-motivation? Last question is why do we need self-motivation? To answer the above questions, I have practiced one best among the several techniques which always keep myself motivated. The technique is called “The Three Golden Circles” written by Simon Sinek, and his book called “START WITH WHY”. This is a useful tool for me to motivate myself, and I would like to suggest it to all readers.
There are sources of motivation including external and internal. External motivations can be money, appreciation, free offer, and etc... While internal motivations refer to the motivations that come from you, not from other people.
The first thing we need to do is to answer number of questions that start with “why” because it help us understand the reasons that we are working on one particular project. These answers are the key motivators that keep us more energetic in working on each project. For instance, why do I come to school? Why do I need to learn skills? Once we have the answers to these questions, we will be able to keep ourselves motivated. However, please remind that all the answers are true to our though and our passion. In contrary, it will affect our results if we do not answer the questions properly.
The second questions would be answering to all the questions that start with “How”. When we understand the reasons we are working on one particular project, it motivates us to work toward the expected result. No matter how much challenges we are facing and will be facing, the motivations always stay in ourselves. It pushes us to whole-heartedly work to achieve our goals. Facing one challenge to another, the answers to the questions “How” will slowly appear which help us to accomplish the tasks. Therefore, we can define the processes of the work flow that should be done step by step to achieve what we want to achieve.
The last step is to answer the question that start with “what”. The answers to all these questions are the results or the products of what we are putting our effort for. It can be one or more answers.
In conclusion, there are many different techniques that can be used to keep ourselves motivated accordingly to each personal preference, but The Three Golden Circles does work for me. I hope this technique could either be applied to all readers.
